When a woman stands up for herself, she stands up for all women

There’s a lot happening in the world right now—and much of it feels heavy and terrifying.

The American government is making moves that could lead to military violence against civilians. Immigrants are being ripped from their families, communities, and livelihoods. Trans people are being denied access to lifesaving, gender-affirming care. Women and queer people are watching their rights get stripped away piece by piece.

In moments like this, personal wellness can feel frivolous. Like a luxury we can’t afford while the world is burning.

But I want to offer you a different perspective: This is exactly when personal wellness needs to be front and center.

You’ve heard the old patriarchal phrase, “Happy wife, happy life”? Well, here’s the real truth:

Happy mother, thriving family.

Well-supported women, stronger communities.

So much of the world runs on the unseen labor of women. We hold things together—emotionally, logistically, socially.

That’s why your wellness isn’t optional. It’s foundational.

What Holistic Wellness Really Means

Wellness is about more than exercise and nutrition (though those matter too).

It’s about:

  • 💛 Supportive community

  • 🧘‍♀️ A spiritual connection—religious or not—that reminds us we’re part of something bigger

  • 🧠 Mental and intellectual stimulation

  • 🧹 A living environment that helps you feel safe and grounded

  • 🧬 Cultural identity and healing generational trauma

  • 🛑 Boundaries, rest, joy, purpose

Holistic wellness is about shoring up what you need—physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually—so you can keep going.

Wellness Is a Radical Act

Stand up and change the world!
Stand up and change the world!

When you are well, you think more clearly. You respond, instead of react. You can hold boundaries. You can resist, organize, parent, love, and lead.

And when you treat yourself with compassion and care, you’re actively resisting systems that want you scared, sick, and broken.

Authoritarianism thrives when we’re exhausted and hopeless. Choosing to nourish yourself, even in small ways, is an act of defiance. It’s saying: You don’t get to take me down that easily.

You Deserve to Be Well

I know how easy it is to put yourself last—especially when the world is in chaos. But you matter. Your health matters. Your joy, your energy, your resilience—they matter more now than ever. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, unsure where to begin, or just need someone in your corner, I’m here to help.

Together, we can build strength—not just for you, but for your family, your community, and your future.

💛 Let’s keep showing up—for ourselves and each other.
