A supportive community in an environment that works for you is great for your health!

When we think about wellness, we often picture food, exercise, and maybe sleep. But two dimensions that are just as vital—yet often overlooked—are environmental and social wellness.

These two aren’t about what you do so much as where you are and who you’re with. And when either one is off, your whole system can feel out of balance.

🌿 Environmental Wellness: Your Surroundings Matter

Environmental wellness is about the spaces you live, work, and move through each day—and how well they support your health.

That includes:

  • Clean air and water

  • Access to green space or nature

  • Walkable neighborhoods or safe outdoor areas

  • A home that feels safe, functional, and comforting

  • A workspace that doesn’t drain the life out of you

We don’t always get to control every aspect of our environment. But we can make small shifts—like opening a window, decluttering a space, adding a plant, or walking outside for five minutes—that help us breathe a little easier.

✨ Ask yourself: How does my environment affect how I feel? What small change could help me feel more supported where I am?

🤝 Social Wellness: You Weren’t Meant to Do This Alone

Social wellness is about connection and community. It’s the people you talk to when you’re overwhelmed or excited. It’s who checks on you, who shows up for you, and who celebrates or grieves with you.

Unfortunately, in the U.S., many of us live very isolated lives. My dad grew up in a three-flat with his extended family in the other apartments. His grandparents and mother were immigrants. He was literally raised by a village—one he could count on.

Most of us don’t have that kind of built-in support anymore.

And even when we do have people in our lives, not every connection is equally supportive.

Social wellness means:

  • Having people you can lean on

  • Feeling seen and heard

  • Belonging to groups that lift you up

  • Being part of a community (chosen or inherited) that helps you thrive

Your community might be made up of coworkers, neighbors, your place of worship, your friends, or a club or interest group you’ve chosen. What matters most is: Do these people support your well-being?

✨ Ask yourself: Who can I reach out to when I’m struggling? Who truly sees me? Who helps me feel more like myself?

You Deserve Space and Support That Nourish You

Environmental and social wellness are often the background music of our lives—but when they’re off-key, we feel it. The good news? You don’t have to fix everything. Just noticing what’s draining and what’s nourishing is a powerful first step.

And if you’re looking for a supportive space to explore all of this—with women who get it—I’d love to invite you into the Firefly Coaching Hub.

It’s a free community for busy women who are ready to care for themselves more deeply—not with guilt or pressure, but with compassion, connection, and guidance.

You don’t have to figure this out alone. Let’s walk this path together.
